Bologna is very easy to reach and close to several major cities in Italy, such as Milan (one hour by train), Florence (half an hour by train), and Rome (two hours by train), as well as to very famous locations, such as the city of Venice (one hour and half by train).
The Bologna International Airport “Guglielmo Marconi” has direct connections to all the main European airports. The fee from the airport to the city centre is 15-20€ for taxis and 6€ by a Bus called BLQ.
For intercontinental flights, the closest airports are Milano Malpensa (2 hours by train from Bologna) and Rome Fiumicino (three hours by train; some flight connections to Bologna are available).
